Meet Kendra

Kendra is a Pro Experience Manager who has been with The Home Depot for six years. She joined the company as a college student, looking for part-time work while earning her Business Management degree. While working towards her degree, Kendra realized she could apply what she was learning in the classroom to her work in our aisles.

Inspired by our culture and commitment to career growth, Kendra saw a future she could build within the company. She started as a Cashier and grew her skills by taking on new roles across different departments. Now, she has stepped into a leadership position as one of our new Pro Experience Managers.

What Does a Pro Experience Manager Do?

Our Pro Experience Managers are responsible for:

  • Delivering an excellent experience for Pro customers through fast, accurate service that meets store standards
  • Leading the Pro Customer Service/Sales team to keep products stocked, manage customer flow, and ensure safe and on-time deliveries
  • Driving sales, supporting Pro Xtra growth, and monitoring performance metrics

What Skills Are Important for Pro Experience Managers?

For Kendra, building relationships and strong communication are some of the most important skills for the job. “To understand our Pro’s project needs and build relationships with them, you have to be a great communicator,” she shares. “Something as simple as greeting them by name can completely change their experience and help build trust.”

How Has She Grown Into This Role?

Kendra has grown her career by expanding her knowledge, skills, and responsibilities over time. “Home Depot has given me the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally,” she shares. “I’m excited to have the opportunity to continue developing as a leader while helping support and inspire those around me.”
