Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for leading and executing the company's global Responsible Sourcing/Human Rights strategy, priorities, and programs. In addition to executing on our internal standards, this associate will ensure The Home Depot is compliant with the increased legal and regulatory environment where we operate around the world. This leader and his/her team will drive compliance to our standards, including but not limited to child labor, forced labor, wages and benefits, health and safety, and subcontracting. Through a team of Responsible Sourcing professionals, the incumbent will drive improvement in the compliance culture in factories around the world and provide leadership to identify and drive closure of potential compliance gaps.
Key Responsibilities:
- 30% Drive best in class programs that promote social/ethical & environmental responsibility practices in factory manufacturing globally.
- 30% Continue to develop and implement supply chain mapping and traceability programs to ensure The Home Depot has deep knowledge of its supply chain past the first tier
- 10% Take a leadership role in the Responsible Sourcing industry by representing The Home Depot on trade association and other boards, advisory groups, panels, etc.
- 10% Anticipate and analyze global and regional social, economic and policy trends that may impact current and potential programs. Proactively develop and implement policies and programs as needed to address these changing requirements.
- 10% Drive training and awareness of Responsible Sourcing priorities with key stakeholders, to include development and publishing of a publicly available annual report.
- 10% Deliver on all Responsible Sourcing related metrics, and ensure the consistent and efficient reporting and communication of results.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Position typically reports to VP, Global Sourcing
- Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues – including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 30% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Business, Public Policy or related field
- Prior experience driving Responsible Sourcing/Social and Environmental Responsibility/Human Rights programs in a large volume retailer/brand of consumer products
- Prior experience in international markets
- Ability to travel internationally

- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
