Pay Range

The pay range for this position is between $18.00 – $25.00.
Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. The Home Depot offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits, which may include a performance-based bonus program or a profit sharing program depending on position.
Position Purpose:
The Home Depot Design Center Return to Vendor (RTV) Associate is responsible for handling returned merchandise in a timely and appropriate manner. Based on the vendor buying agreement (VBA) of the product returned, the RTV Associate communicates with suitable design center contacts (both internal and external) to expedite movement of product. To accomplish this objective, this role is accountable for building and maintaining strong working relationships with vendors and HDDC associates to satisfy their specific policies. The RTV Associate also problem solves to identify why products are being returned (via tracking reports, analysis, etc.) and communicates opportunities to management. This role must be familiar with receiving processes. Additionally, the RTV Associate is required to be certified on all powered lift equipment (i.e., electric pallet jack, slip sheet machine, reach truck, order puller, forklift) to unload trucks and move freight from receiving to designated staging areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- 30% Communicates with other HDDC Associates about vendor policies and procedures; Keeps all cataloged merchandise secured in the cage; Communicates with leadership about merchandise that is returned repeatedly to help identify sales training opportunities; Follows procedures for destroying merchandise
- 20% Maintains a consistently positive, pleasant and service-oriented image when communicating with others in person or on the telephone; Expedites product (both internal and external) movement consistently and accurately, including customer returns and will calls; Organizes merchandise within RTV cage and adjoining areas to be quickly and easily accessible; Stops operational tasks to assist customers when necessary
- 50% Ensures that all defective merchandise is cataloged into the system; Maintains out-for-repair merchandise; Obtains Receiving Supervisor's approval of all RTV paperwork; Ensures RTV markdowns are submitted on a daily basis; Makes carton counts and key-rec deliveries; Completes key-rec process and enters detail information into receiving system; Makes special shipping arrangements; Assists vendor representatives to inspect and authorize RTVs; Schedules pickup of merchandise by vendors or other partners effectively and enters pre-post information into system; Assists with answering receiving phone calls; Separates merchandise brought to the RTV area into defective and non-defective categories; Communicates with all post-sale team members about any issues with importing/completing special order merchandise; Coordinates reimbursement for labor costs on defective installed merchandise with the vendor; Works with vendors to return non-defective/non-opened merchandise back to vendor for credit; Follows each vendor's specific RTV policy, prepares merchandise and generates RTV paperwork

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
Working Conditions:
- Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.
- No travel required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Must be able to pass all state and local safety certifications
- Forklift certification required
